How do you know if students are learning anyway?


Nate posed this question. I think this is where the formal and summative evaluations factor in. We are twelve weeks into school now and my students have made great gains. They have advanced from not recognizing the difference between numbers and letters, the colors, and patterns to counting, recognizing letters in random order, knowing colors and reading color words and being able to create multiple patterns. They are learning and they know it! That’s what matters.
